La Loccaia makes our dream come true: entertaining guests in a traditional Italian farmhouse in true Tuscan style.
We chose La Loccaia for its ideal location. All the famous Tuscan sights are within two hours by train or car; such as Pisa, Florence, Lucca as well as Rome. Water sports and swimming at Lago Trasimeno and several shopping centers are in the area. There is so much to see and do in Tuscany and La Loccaia is the perfect starting point.
There are a number of beautiful villages in the area with shops and restaurants. But of course you can also lounge at the pool or read a book under a tree (with or without a drink).
In the area
Firenze: in approx. an hours drive is the capital of Tuscany with the most beautiful bridge in the world: the Pontevecchio in Florence! The cradle of the renaissance is a city that you have to see for yourself!
Siena: In a little over an hour you can drive to the most beautiful square in the world. Twice a year (on July 2nd and August 16th) the Palio takes place here; the world famous horse race.
Pisa: is approx. 2 hours drive from La Loccaia. Pisa is a charming city with lots of shops and restaurants and of course the Leaning Tower.
Rome: by train you can reach Central Rome from Arezzo within 1,5 hours. A city more than worth a day trip with the colosseum, Spanish steps, the Forum, Trevi fountain, etc. etc.
Also in the area are the medievil cities Arezzo (20 km), Cortona (45 km), Perugia (80 km), etc. Of course we have more information about all the activities in the area.
